Deputy Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Tongai Mafidi Mnangagwa, was involved in an altercation with a suspected drug dealer, Antony Mwedziwendira, on Tuesday, during an exclusive party at Trude Mansions in Harare’s upscale Avenue area.

According to the ZRP Fife Avenue police report, the dispute arose from a misunderstanding over a parking space outside the venue. Mnangagwa, who attended the gathering with his associates, inadvertently blocked Mwedziwendira’s parked vehicles. Post-celebration, tempers flared as the accused confronted Mnangagwa about the inconvenience caused by the parked convoy.

The situation escalated quickly, with Mwedziwendira allegedly manhandling the deputy minister and assaulting him and his aides with open hands. However, realizing the identity of the high-profile individual he was dealing with, Mwedziwendira hastily fled the scene, leaving behind four luxury vehicles – a silver BMW 5301, red VW Bettel, blue Mercedes Benz C240, and silver Mercedes Benz C220.

A subsequent search of the abandoned vehicles revealed a shocking discovery – various illicit substances were found, leading authorities to suspect Mwedziwendira’s involvement in drug-related activities. The unexpected clash between a government official and the accused has left the public intrigued and questioning the events that transpired at the otherwise upscale and sophisticated gathering.
