Job Sikhala Convicted of Inciting Violence

Cutizens Coalition for Change members Job Sikhala, and Godfrey Sithole (Chitungwiza North MP) have been convicted of inciting violence.

The two allegedly posted videos encouraging their party supporters to avenge Moreblessing Ali’s death and then hired lorries to ferry people from Epworth and surrounding areas in Chitungwiza to Nyatsime.
Sikhala was arrested on 14 June 2022 after he spoke against the murder of an opposition supporter, More blessing Ali, by a ZANU PF supporter.

Harare magistrate Tafadzwa Miti found the two guilty and the defence lawyers asked to do mitigation on January 29, to be followed by sentencing.

In another Sikhala’s trial, for publishing falsehoods, Harare magistrate Feresi Chakanyuka postponed judgement to February 7, saying that she only received state’s closing submissions in the morning.
