ZEC records a record 6 million voters

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission  has recorded a record six million people who are registered to vote in the 2023 harmonised elections.

The margin is up by 500 000 from the last general elections.

ZEC made concluded its final mobile voter registration blitz has opened the voters’ role for public inspection.

However, voter registration is ongoing and will close two days after proclamation of the elections date by President Mnangagwa later this month.

“The exact number of people on the voters’ roll can only be established after the closure and inspection of the roll.

“Currently, there are about six million voters on the roll.” said ZEC deputy chairperson Ambassador Rodney Kiwa .

The date for this year’s elections is likely to fall between July 26 and August 26.
