Oil Castor introduces monthly pageants

REGIONAL bean processing company, Oil Castor has established monthly beauty pageants dubbed Miss Rural Africa.

The pageants which began this year in June are aimed at giving rural ladies a platform to air out their concerns and views.

The beauty contests is open to models from the rural African region.

“Motive behind the pageant is to empower rural women by giving them a platform to express themselves to millions of Zimbabweans across the globe,” said the organiser, Alvaro Silva when the pageant was launched.

Votes for the pageant are counted live on the company’s website and Facebook pages.

The modelling competitions which are run online began in June which saw teen model Faith Chikandiwa receiving the top prize.

In July, Gweru’s Bertha Chawatama was crowned Miss Rural Africa July 2020.

The monthly pageant’s August edition is underway and winners will be announced on the 31st of August. Miss Rural August top prize is USD$300, second prize USD$150 and third and fourth place will receive USD$50 each.
