Since yesterday the big news on social media is that Nigerian born Afrobeats artist Burna Boy had been nominated for an international Grammy award.His nomination was for his great world class album “African Giant” which is a clinché effort by one of the finest afrobeats acts Africa has produced.African Giant is a 19 track album which was featured by very talented and influential voices across the world.Jorja Smith,Zlatan,Jeremih,Serani,Manifest,Damain Marley and the Benin born influential singer and songwriter Angelique Kidjo also featured on his album.His album was nominated for the Best World Music Album category.
Other nominees for the same grammy includes Altin Gün who is an Anatolian rock and Turkish Psychedelic Folk band from Armsterdam Netherlands.
Neighbouring South African born comedian Trevoh Noah was also nominated for the best comedy album.Which further shows how his act is influencing the international market.
