Exiled former Zanu PF politburo member, Jonathan Moyo has blasted MDC T leader, Thokozani Khupe and Douglas Mwonzora after the duo recalled several councillors and legislators.
The country has been witnessing political drama in MDC T led by Khupe recalled members of parliament and councilors in cities.
The recalls action have been widely condemned by residents associations who described it as an infringement on the voters right to representation.
The recalls have ignited debate and has pertinent questions in the political terrain with some prominent figures questioning the credibility of the MDC-T.
Jonathan Moyo, a political scientist who was part of the Mugabe administration but fell by the wayside after the military coup of November 2017 questioned the actions of Khupe and her counterpart Mwonzora.
Writing on his twitter account, Moyo said, “Hello @DrThoko_Khupe and @DMwonzora. To understand where you’re at; in what way, shape, form or sense are you an opposition to Mnangagwa’s ZanuPF? Put differently, what in particular do you find objectionably wrong and therefore unacceptable with Mnangagwa’s regime?”
The reconstructed MDC-T has been failing to gain credibility with many analysts arguing that they are an appendage of the ruling Zanu PF party, an allegation they have since rubbished.
The allegations of “Zanu PF lite” tag comes on the backdrop of countless victories in the courts to which analysts are arguing that the MDC T has the blessings of the governing party .
Recently, the media was awash with reports , that Khupe was set to be appointed leader of the opposition in parliament.
However, the claim was shot down by constitutional law expert Professor Lovemore Madhuku, who said such action would require a change of some clauses of the constitution.
