War Veterans pledge commitment to preserve liberation struggle legacy

The Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) has pledged its commitment to collaborate with the Ministry of Veterans of the Liberation Struggle Affairs to ensure the legacy of the liberation struggle is preserved for future generations.

 

In their congratulatory message to Christopher Mutsvangwa on his recent appointment as the Minister of Veterans of the Liberation Struggle Affairs, ZNLWVA said they seek to preserve the historical narrative that shaped the nation.

 

“The Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) is delighted to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Senator C. Mutsvangwa on his recent appointment as the Minister of Veterans of the Liberation Struggle Affairs

 

“First and foremost, the ZNLWVA reaffirms its commitment to maintaining a cordial and symbiotic relationship with the Ministry of Veterans of the Liberation Struggle Affairs.

 

“We firmly believe that this collaboration is essential in addressing the needs and concerns of war veterans, ensuring their overall well-being, and honouring their significant contributions to the nation,” said Andras Ethermore Mathibela, ZNLWVA’s interim chairman.

 

“We pledge our unwavering commitment to working hand in hand with the ministry to honor the sacrifices made by our comrades and to preserve the noble legacy of the liberation struggle,” Mathibela added.

 

The appointment of Mutsvangwa as a minister is a significant milestone in supporting and uplifting war veterans in Zimbabwe, Mathibela said.

 

Mathibela added that the association anticipates a fruitful collaboration with the ministry under the leadership of Mutsvangwa.

 

“Lastly, we express our expectations for meaningful interaction with various ministries responsible for the welfare and economic empowerment of war veterans. We have full confidence in Hon. Senator C. Mutsvangwa’s ability to facilitate these vital connections and ensure that the concerns and needs of war veterans are effectively communicated and addressed across relevant sectors.

 

“The appointment of Hon. Senator C. Mutsvangwa as Minister of Veterans of the Liberation Struggle Affairs marks a significant milestone in our collective efforts to support and uplift war veterans in Zimbabwe. The ZNLWVA eagerly anticipates a fruitful collaboration with the ministry under Hon. Senator C. Mutsvangwa’s esteemed leadership,” he added.

 

Moreover, ZNLWVA underscored the importance of effectively implementing the Veterans of the Liberation Struggle Act (Chapter 17:12) as this legislation serves as a comprehensive framework for providing support and benefits to them.
