The MDC Alliance’s National Vice Chairman Job Sikhala, expelled ZANUPF Youth Commissar and Leader of the newly formed economic organization the Front for Economic Emancipation in Zimbabwe (FEEZ) Godfrey Tsenengamu, Wabantu Movement Harare Coordinator Jimu Kunaka, Tajamuka social movement Leader Promise Mkwananzi and journalist Hopewell Chin’ono face arrest as the panicky ZANUPF regime moves in to squash a potentially explosive mass protest pencilled for the 7th to 10th of July.

A reliable source within government has confirmed plans by the government to crush the protest through arresting those suspected of inciting the citizens before the day of the planned protests.

According to the source, the police has been instructed to consider appropriate charges to be pressed against the “criminals” and move in to arrest them before the situation gets out of hand.

This comes after Sikhala, Tsenengamu, Kunaka and Mkwananzi have come out in public urging citizens across the divide to “act” against the economic meltdown, high cost of living, institutionalised corruption and looting in government.

Government has lately indicated that it was going to hunt down what it labels coup mongers and a few days after acting ZANUPF Youth league boss Tendai Chirau came out attacking Tsenengamu, Chin’ono and Kunaka.

In a press conference held in the capital last week, Godfrey Tsenengamu leader of the newly established Green Revolution Movement gave the Mnangagwa administration an ultimatum of up to the 6th of July.

The firebrand former ZANU-PF youth commissar warned that if nothing notable happens, they are going to take action between the 7th and 10th of July.
