Mnangagwa’s failure is the reason for youth exodus: Joseph Busha

by Bustop TV News

Free Zim Congress President Joseph Makamba Busha has expressed concern over the bleak future of young people under the leadership of President Emmerson Mangagwa, saying the second republic’s failure to turn around the collapsing economy is the reason why young people are leaving the country in search for better opportunities.

In Zimbabwe, youth (who are below the age of 35) constitute 67.7% of the country’s population and this group has continued to bear the brunt of lack of opportunities due to economic detoriation, resulting in mass youth exodus.

Addressing journalists during a press conference on Monday in Harare, Busha said youth exodus has intensified because of a bad governance by Mnangagwa’s administration.

“Young people are running away from this country mainly in search of decent work and better living.

“Mnangagwa has failed and there is nothing wrong for him to admit that, he should just leave the country in the hands of the young people,” Busha said.

“If things are really going well like they say, why our young people drown in seas trying to go to Europe and other developing countries? Thats an indication that the whole systems is not functioning.

“Every young person’s dream now is to get a visa, and a Nurse AID course for them to be able to get out their failed country. So, before we start seeing the number of young people queueing for passports decreasing, we should know that we are still far away from talking about opportunities in this country.”

Busha added that his party is capable of changing everything in the country and that the current Zimbabwean President would enjoy life under his leadership.

“We are well prepared to take this country to where it has never been before, just give us the chance and you will see.

“Mnangagwa himself would enjoy life under my ruling because I know what needs to be done in this country for everything to come to life,” he said.

“We currently have energy issue which needs to be resolved, and the currency crisis, all what I can say is that this government doesn’t have the capacity to find solutions to these problems. We are the solution, vagoni vebasa vauya (the solution has just arrived)”

Meanwhile, a week ago Mnangagwa set 23 August 2023 for the general elections.

The proclamation of the election date for presidential, parliamentary, and municipality elections by Mnangagwa came amid a delimitation report and voters’ roll marred by errors and this has forced citizens to have no confidence in the electoral body.
