A 67-year-old Australian tourist has been reported missing in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, since February 17. Authorities have initiated a search operation and are requesting the public’s assistance.
Limited details have been disclosed for security reasons, but it’s known that he was traveling alone and staying at a nearby hotel and was observed heading towards the Victoria Falls Rainforest on February 17, the last known sighting.
Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the national police spokesperson, stated that investigations are ongoing.
“We are still conducting investigations as the missing person is yet to be located. No information has been gathered on the whereabouts or what may have happened to him and we appeal to anyone who may have any information to assist,’ Nyathi said.
Citizens, stakeholders, and tourism operators are urged to collaborate with the police and report any information about his whereabouts to the nearest police station or Australian Embassy.
