Organizers of the July 31 demonstration have reported being followed and visited by unknown people during the night.
MDC Alliance deputy National Chair, Job Sikhala over the weekend reported that unknown assailants had visited his house in St Mary’s at 2am.
Yesterday, Former Zanu PF youth league political commissar who now leads a pressure group, Front for Economic Empowerment Zimababwe (FEEZ) also reported that , “three armed man pounced on his kids in Bindura at 12am while they were asleep and terrorised them for 1 hour pretending to be CID homicide looking for me “.
Today Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimababwe (ARTUZ) Obert Masarure also claimed that armed men raided the residence of his uncle.
“Armed men raided the residence of my uncle in Kuwadzana last night. They arrived at 2am heavily armed and said they were looking for me. I am safe for now, but worried.
They were four armed men in suits, who claimed to be from President’s office. They were in an unmarked twin cab, black in colour,” tweeted Masarure.
ZCTU president, Peter Mutasa also made similar reports.
“A gang saying are policeman have visited my home just now. Having failed to see me at home, they tried to force my relatives into their car.
They wanted them to show them where l am. My family is in danger and panic,” he said.
