THE Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council (ZIMSEC) has announced the return of June examinations.

June exams were scrapped  last year following the disruption of the school calendar due to Covid -19.

In a statement released on Thursday, ZIMSEC said  students can now register and rewrite their failed subjects in June and registration will be open for a week in March.

“2023 June examination fees payment in ZWL to be made during the period 8th and 15th March 2023 at the prevailing rate of the 8th of March 2023, which will be communicated to all centres.

“The closing date for payments and submission of proof of payments accompanied by entries for the June examinations is 15th of March 2023,” the statement reads.

November 2023 examination fees payment will be done from 7 to 14 April.

Meanwhile the US dollar pegged exam fees which were gazetted in 2022 will still apply this year.

Ordinary and Advanced level students from public schools  will pay the subsidised US$11 and US$22 per subject respectively.

Those from private schools will pay the full cost which is US$24 for O levels and US$48 for A levels per subject.

The exam fees can be paid in Zimbabwean dollars at the prevailing bank rate on the day of payment.

Meanwhile, the government is yet to fulfill its free state funded education promise which was made by President Emmerson Mnangagwa in 2020.
