Covid-19 cases in the country are on the rise as 15 more people tested positive yesterday.
This has brought the total of Covid-19 confirmed cases to 237.
Matebelaland South recorded the highest number of new cases, 8 while Masvingo had 2 cases, Midlands 1 and Harare had 4 cases.
Two more recoveries were recorded yesterday in Harare and the country now has 31 recovery cases.
The Ministry of Health and Child Care confirmed.
“Fifteen cases tested positive for Covid -19 yesterday These are all returnees from South Africa 7 and are all isolated. Yesterday 562 RDT screening tests and 390 PCR diagnostic tests were done. The cumulative number of tests done to date is 50 920 (30 518)and 20 402) PCR,” the Health Ministry reported.
“In yesterday’s report 5 cases were deducted from Harare Province and added to Mat South province thus giving a cumulative figure of 93 cases for Harare and 21 cases for Mat South. This was due to a data verification excercise that was done using linelists from both provinces which showed that 5 cases from Mat South were being reported under Harare province in the daily update.”
To date the total number of confirmed cases is 237, recovered 31, active cases 202 and 4 deaths since the onset of the outbreak on 20 March 2020.
Most cases that are being recorded are of returnees.
