Aided by Armed soldiers and police details, the Khupe MDC T led faction sealed off the MDC headquarters, Morgan Tsvangirai House in Harare last night.
Douglas Mwonzora, the MDC Alliance’s former secretary general, previously wrote to the police in April on behalf of the MDC-T, asking for help in capturing Harvest house.
A video clip in possession circulating on social media shows MDC Alliance secretary general, Charlton Hwende trying to negotiate with armed police details at Morgan Tsvangirai House formerly Harvest house.
Meanwhile, MDC Alliance has vowed to repossess the iconic building from it’s rivals.
Party spokesperson, Fadzayi Mahere said in a statement:
“In the dead of night, armed soldiers and police aided (Douglas) Mwonzor It a youths to forcibly enter Harvest House.
“Their unlawful actions have nothing to do with constitutionalism and everything to do with capturing the opposition at any cost. Political power comes from the people, not soldiers.”
When Bustop TV visited the MRT house early morning armed police details were barricading the building.
Recent attempts to unite the warring factions of the opposition party by the elders led by Cephas Makuyana fell on deaf ears from both camps.
