President Emmerson Mnangagwa this afternoon commissioned a batch of 50 ZUPCO buses at the company’s headquarters in Harare.
The initiative is said to be part of government’s drive to modernize the public transport sector, having struck a deal with Belarus following President Mnangagwa’s visit to the Eastern European country, Russia and Kazakhstan.
Belarus offered to help develop Zimbabwe as a regional transport hub using its own experiences having promised an initial 500 buses with the possibility of increasing the number in future.
