Zimbabwe has recorded a significant increase in the number of Covid-19 confirmed cases recording 76 new cases.
The total of confirmed cases has reached 132 with 103 active cases.
The new cases are returnees from South Africa and Botswana who are currently in Beitbridge, Harare and Masvingo.
Of the new cases 75 are imported transmissions while only one is a local transmission.
This was confirmed by Information ministry permanent secretary, Nick Mangwana via his twitter page.
“Zimbabwe’s Covid-19 positive cases have now spiked to 132. The 76 new cases have been recorded in Beitbridge, Masvingo and Harare.. All new cases except one have been registered among returnees from mainly SA and Botswana. Only one is a local transmission,” he wrote.
