Zimbabwean Ambassador to Mozambique, Major General Douglas Nyikayaramba has succumbed to Covid-19
President Emmerson Mnangagwa confirmed the retired Lieutenant General’s death at the beginning of a Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday
He is the fourth of the coup generals to die from Covid-19 after former Air Force Chief Marshall Perrence Shiri, coup announcer Sibusiso Moyo and ex-prisons boss Paradzai Zimhondi
In 2013 Nyikayaramba was famous for using intimidation and harassment tactics to help Zanu (PF) regain all the seats it lost to MDC during the 2008 harmonized elections in Mutare.
He once publicly warned other political parties not to try and dislodge Zanu (PF) in elections.
