Henrietta Rushwaya has been reinstated as the Zimbabwe Miners Federation (ZMF) President after she was suspended last year.

Rushwaya who is former Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) chief executive officer, was suspended together with Gift Karanda, ZMF Secretary for External Affairs after a General Council (Management Committee) meeting held in Gweru in November last year.

This was after she arrested at Robert Mugabe international airport while trying to board plane with 6kg gold destined for Dubai.

However, in a meeting held at the Rainbow Towers today, ZMF National Executive members unanimously agreed to reinstate Henrietta Rushwaya with immediate effect saying her suspension was unconstitutional.

The Federation stated that the suspension was not lawful and that it is the duty of the National Executive not of the General Council (Management Committee) to suspend her.

Motion to lift the suspension was moved by Mr. Daniel Chitenje and seconded unanimously.

Rushwaya has been reinstated forthwith.
