South African hip hop superstar, AKA, has taken to Twitter speaking against the security situation in Zimbabwe encouraging Zimbabweans to stay strong during this dire time.

The rapper in a series of tweets showed solidarity with the Zimbabweans and condemned what he has been seeing on the way people are being treated in the country.

I’m a series of tweets, the Fella in Versace hitmaker trashed African Black Lives Matter movement who were following Beyonce’s Black is king yet ignoring African issues like the Zimbabwe issue.

He said, “Imagine your fellow Africans too busy focused on #BLM happening 15 000 kms away to care about those very same black lives NEXT DOOR. Black is King my ass. Stay Strong ZIMBABWE.’

AKA would go on to quote an Eye Witness News article on the security state of Zimbabwe encouraging others to spread awareness of what he saw going on.
“Let’s spread awareness about what’s going on In Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 … because ultimately the people need all the help they can get.

“Sending Love to the MEGACY IN Zimbabwe. I hope y’all good.
I would say, “I’m praying for you” … but that’s a bit over done, I’d rather just say, you’re on my mind and I hope you will be victorious soon.”

The rapper has been using the Zimbabwe flag emoji and the love emoji a lot.

Other prominent South African who have been very vocal about Zimbabwe include Thuli Madonsela and former Democratic Alliance (DA) President Mmusi Maimane.

Today, Mmusi Maimane asked Twitter to make a graphic for a hashtag Zimbabwean Live Matter.

Maimane wrote, “Dear @Twitter please make a graphic for this hashtag. #ZimbabweanLivesMatter. I think it deserves recognition in the same way that #BlackLivesMatter has a graphic. @jack can you make something happen.”

Previously he asked South African president Cyril Ramaphosa to act upon the respects of rights of the media and the opposition is Zimbabwe.

The former DA president said, “Mr President @CyrilRamaphosa this is not the time for quiet diplomacy. You are the chairperson of the @_AfricanUnion. You cannot sit quietly and act like you do not see what is happening next door. Call @edmnangagwa and tell him to respect the rights of the media and opposition.”

Former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela also called on President Ramaphosa to intervene on the situation in Zimbabwe.

She said, “We used to sing “Oliver Tambo tell Botha to release Mandela” South African Democrats are asking you @_AfricanUnion Chaiperson President @CyrilRamaphosa to tell President @edmnangagwa to release #HopewellChinono #TsitsiDangarembga and other journalists and activists #Democracy.”

As it stands Zimbabweans are in a very difficult state with the country in merky waters.

It is the deteriorating human rights situation that is concerning as no one is not safe in the country anymore.
