Scores of Harare residents today gathered at Tichagarika Shopping Centre in Glen View Harare for a devolution road show which was organized by Harare Metropolitan Residents Forum (HAMREF).
The Road Show was meant to cascaded information on devolution contained in the HAMREF position paper.
The event which was graced by Mayor of Harare, Councilor Herbert Gomba, was meant to give a number of demands including reviewing laws and policies to advance evolution, equality in distribution of natural resources, giving citizens power to manage their own affairs and participate in decision making processes among others.
The government has vowed to commit itself to devolution and HAMREF have since take an initiative to embark on a devolution Campaign dubbed #LeaveNoResidentBehind whose overall objective is to promote citizen participation in devolution implementation in Zimbabwe.
Popular Star FM DJs KVG and Phatisami.as well as man of the moment Mambo Dhuterere took turn to entertain the crowds.
Other road shows have been lined up for November and December 2019 to raise awareness on devolution.
