A police officer is reportedly on the run after s*xually assaulting a woman who had sought help at the Mbare Police Station.

The 24-year-old woman, originally from Madziva, had traveled to Mbare Musika to meet her father. Unfortunately, her father failed to show up, leaving her stranded.

Seeking assistance and a safe place to stay, she approached the police, who directed her to the Mbare Police Station since she had her father’s contact information.

At the station, she explained her situation to an officer who called her father. He assured her he would come to pick her up.

In the meantime, another officer offered her a place to rest in a car parked at the station.

He provided her with a blanket and a dollar to buy some food.

Later that night, the same officer returned to the vehicle and demanded s@x, holding condoms in his hand.

When the woman refused, he allegedly forced himself on her, taking advantage of her vulnerability.

She later recounted that the officer insisted she “repay” him for the dollar he had given her, knowing she lacked the funds to return to Madziva.

The next morning, the officer instructed her to take a bath. During this time, the woman managed to report the incident to a female officer. Upon learning of her report, the accused officer fled the station.

The woman was escorted to Edith MSF for medical examination and later taken to a safe house. Efforts to obtain a comment from the police were unsuccessful.
