Zimbabwean actress, Anne Nhira’s body has reportedly arrived in Zimbabwe from South Africa, local publication, H-metro has confirmed.
Nhira’s died in South Africa in March 2021 in hospital following severe internal injuries she reportedly sustained when she was attacked by robbers on her way from a prayer session.
According to H-metro, Nhira’s body left Beitbridge border post heading for Harare this morning.
It has been reportedly indicated that the body will come via Gwanda road, with the arrival time in Harare estimated to be today (Saturday) afternoon.
Her burial is set for 11am tomorrow.
Meanwhile, president Emmerson Mnangagwa granted a state assistance on Nhira’s burial.
The late actress is well known for playing the role of Vimbai on the defunct Studio 263 back in 2005.
She also became popular when she played her role in influencing government to ban Zodwa Wabantu who was suppose to visit Zimbabwe for her maiden performance.
However, she faced a lot of criticism and hate speech from a number of citizens.
