Confederations of African Football (CAF) has officially granted the giant National Sports Stadium (NSS) the greenlight to host the upcoming World Cup qualifier games set for June.
This was confirmed in a letter issued by the continental football governing body.
Zimbabwe is scheduled to kickstart World Cup qualifier games when it host neighbours South Africa at NSS between 5 and 8 June.
However, last week CAF slapped ZIFA with a USD$2 000 fine over the stadium’s failure to meet the continental football mother body’s requirements when they hosted Zambia in an AFCON qualifier match in March.
CAF further expressed concern over lack of spectators’ bucket seats and general uncleanliness of the facility.
