CONTROVERSIAL President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s bodyguard and nephew Valdano Brown has been fired, Bus Stop TV can exclusively reveal.
The embattled Kwekwe-bred Mnangagwa’s nephew allegedly betrayed his uncle’s trust and orchestrated the theft of money secured in a safe.
It could not be, however, ascertained where the safe was located.
“Yes, Brown was fired for stealing money, which infuriated the President. He was fired immediately a few months ago.
“The President does not tolerate indiscipline and Brown’s dismisal shows that he has no fear or favour even with his clos relatives ,” said our source.
Our source further alleged that Brown also duped several other businessmen on dodgy deals, mainly targeting Chinese nationals in mostly mining deals,” added our source.
Brown is no stranger to controversy. During the COVID-19 era, he was also implicated in the looting scam, where he allegedly set up a shelf company in Namibia and inflated PPE prices after landing a government contract.
The shelf company was called Jaji and was contracted to supply 19 testing kits, fivefold, bleeding the treasury in the process.
Efforts to get a comment from Jaji hit a snag and his mobile phone was not reachable at the time of writing.
