Heroic Detective Cassandra Hove, Killed in Armed Raid

A female detective from the Criminal Investigation Department was shot and killed on the job Thursday night in the Pumula suburb of Bulawayo. It was a terrible incident.

As she and her coworkers chased what they thought were armed thieves, she lost her life protecting the city.

Detective Officer Cassandra Hove, 37, was a determined police officer who had sworn to protect people from criminals her whole life.

She was killed in the line of duty in the Habek area of Pumula South after being shot in the upper body. She was part of a group of cops who went on the hunt for armed thieves who were thought to be targeting petrol stations all over the city.

The accident happened around 8:40 p.m., and her team rushed her to a nearby private clinic, where she was declared dead as soon as they got there.

Commissioner Paul Nyathi, a spokesman for the national police, stated that the death of Detective Constable Hove is still being looked into.

Detective Constable Cassandra Hove of CID Homicide Bulawayo died on March 6, 2025, while chasing armed robbery suspects.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police says that investigations are being carried out into her death.

“The shooting happened in the Habek area of Pumula South in Bulawayo,” Commissioner Nyathi said.

He said that Commissioner-General of Police Stephen Mutamba is sad about the death of Detective Constable Hove and that a full probe is being carried out to find out exactly what happened.

It was made clear that the police are at war with dangerous crimes, and he asked people to come forward with information that could help them catch the criminals.
