Local Afro-dancehall sensation Chillmaster is gaining popularity on social media, with his music gaining over 5.7 million views on YouTube.
According to YouTube’s weekly statistics, his track Horror has garnered 2.2 million views, while Makanaka has reached an impressive 3.5 million views in just six months.
As of January, Chillmaster has dominated YouTube’s weekly top artist rankings, surpassing some of the biggest names in the industry, including Jah Prayzah, Winky D, Killer T, Minister Michael Mahendere, Janet Manyowa, and Gemma Griffiths.
While some critics have accused local artists of artificially inflating their numbers by purchasing views, Chillmaster dismissed such claims, affirming that his audience is organic and his numbers are authentic.

Expressing gratitude for his growing fanbase, he shared his excitement over another milestone:
“I’m truly honoured and grateful for the overwhelming support that has helped Kudiwa Chaizvo reach 2 million views. Thank you all for being part of this incredible journey,” he said.
Both Kudiwa Chaizvo and Horror have surpassed the two-million-view mark within days of each other, solidifying Chillmaster’s status as one of the country’s most influential artists.
Last year, he enjoyed a breakthrough period, consistently dropping hits that resonated with fans and critics alike. His knack for creating infectious tracks has firmly established him as a major force in the local music industry.
