A 22-year-old Nyabira woman was arrested recently after stabbing her husband in an altercation.
The deceased, Moses Mapurisa (37) succumbed to the injuries at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals where he was getting medical treatment.
Mashonaland West police spokesperson, Inspector Margaret Chitove confirmed the incident which occured at Sandhurst Farm around 23.00 hrs on the 23rd of this month.
According to Chitove the deceased attacked his wife, Priviledge Kapamurandu’s two-year-old son leading to the brawl.
“Mapurisa came home around 2300 hours and attacked Kapamurandu’s son which resulted in her retaliating”.
She said Kapamurandu confronted Mapurisa who then physically attacked her before a neighbour refrained him.
“Kapamurandu then took an axe handle which she used to strike the deceased before he took a two-metre hosepipe which he further assaulted the accused with.
“After being separated by Patrick Mashaira a neighbour, Kapamurandu went into the kitchen and armed herself with a knife which she used to stab the deceased on the stomach,” Chitove stated.
Kapamurandu is currently in police custody.
