Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume has addressed concerns surrounding a recent address mix-up, describing it as an honest mistake while reaffirming his commitment to transparency and accountability.
In response to the media attention, Mafume clarified that the confusion over his address was unintentional and not an attempt to deceive.

The mayor emphasised his openness to enquiries about residency, finances, or leadership, stressing that he has nothing to hide. He welcomed scrutiny, acknowledging it as a crucial part of effective governance. “I have no issue with any verification processes.
My record is clear, and I will continue to serve the residents of Harare with integrity,” Mafume added.
His comments come in the wake of a report claiming that he provided a false address.
However, sources close to the situation confirm that the issue was an administrative mistake and not a deliberate misrepresentation.
