Over 400 residents of Chibhala village in the Hwange district recently received free medical care during an outreach program organized by Hwange Colliery Company Limited (HCCL) Holdings.
Villagers benefited from a range of services, including general medical screenings, eye care, cancer screenings, and hypertension medication. This aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 3, which focuses on ensuring good health and well-being for all.
The outreach program provided significant relief to villagers who often face challenges accessing healthcare facilities located 25 kilometers away.
The Zimbabwean government has encouraged mining companies, including HCCL, to actively support the communities where they operate through impactful initiatives. HCCL’s cancer screening efforts at the event exemplify this commitment.
The government emphasizes its vision of a healthy society for all citizens, adhering to the principle of “Leaving No One and No Place Behind.”
