Somizi Mhlongo’s brief and controversial appearance at ManB’s birthday party in East London has sparked a heated debate online.
Originally set to host the event, Somizi abruptly left shortly after his introduction, leaving both fans and event organizers in confusion.
During an Instagram Live session, Somizi expressed his dissatisfaction with the event’s arrangements, listing several reasons for his early departure. Among his complaints were the absence of an airport pick-up service, which forced him and his manager to organize their own transport.
Somizi also faced accommodation issues, claiming the hotel rooms had not been prepaid, which meant he had to personally settle the bill.
Further criticism was aimed at the event’s chaotic schedule, with Somizi’s performance scheduled for 6 AM, despite assurances that the event would conclude by 6 PM.
Additionally, he expressed frustration over the organisers’ expectation for him to promote the event on social media without compensation, arguing that this is an industry standard that should have been respected.
Somizi also claimed that his return flight was cancelled, leaving him stranded without alternative travel arrangements, and criticized the stage setup as insufficient.
In retaliation, ManB, the event host, accused Somizi of misleading fans by directing them to a different venue via social media, escalating the conflict.
