Early this morning, twenty-one (21) military tankers, vehicles, and military police vehicles were spotted along Borrowdale Road in Harare, sparking concern on social media.
The Government of Zimbabwe has clarified the reason behind the presence of these vehicles. Permanent Secretary of the Zimbabwean government, Nick Mangwana, stated, “There is a scheduled exercise to test equipment taking place today. Nothing to be concerned about.”

Mangwana addressed the issue after former Member of Parliament Fadzayi Mahere raised alarm over the military tankers moving through Harare. She questioned, “Why are there military tanks on Harare’s roads today? In light of the constitutional parameters of military deployment, the public has a right to know.”
