The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) is seeking a highly skilled and results-driven professional to join its team as Economic Regulation Director (Grade E3). ZERA is responsible for regulating the energy sector to ensure a fair, reliable, and sustainable energy supply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the licensing process for energy sector operators to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Develop and review tariff structures and pricing models for electricity, petroleum, and renewable energy.
- Assess electricity tariffs, petroleum pricing, and power purchase agreements.
- Conduct economic and financial research on energy sector trends.
- Provide sector-based economic analysis and insights.
- Monitor industry performance and enforce compliance with regulatory standards.
- Represent ZERA in high-level meetings with government bodies, stakeholders, and international organizations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or Engineering.
- A Master’s degree, CIMA certification, or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the energy or regulatory sector, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Expertise in economic regulation, energy pricing, and licensing frameworks.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
