Zimbabwe thrashes Burkina Faso

The Zimbabwe Senior men’s rugby team, the Sables, thrashed Burkina Faso 101-03 in a match played at Old Georgians in Harare yesterday afternoon. 

Zimbabwe started with two quick tries from Shingi Katsvere and Sharks forward Blithe Mavesere in the sixth and ninth minute respectively. The two subsequently scored a brace each and were part of a select group to achieve this feat.

Other players to score two tries were Cleopas Kundiona, Matthew McNab and Aiden Burnett who his tries scored almost at the end of the match. Other try scorers were Keith Chiara, Sebastian Roche, Marcus Nel, Dean Makoni, Matthew Mangongo and Sean Makombe. 

Keith Chiwara was good with the boot with nine out of twelve successful conversions successful. Dudley White Sharpley had a 100% success rate with a four out four on conversions. 

The Burkinabe Stallions were inferior throughout the match managing just one penalty conversion towards the end of the match.
