Zim Covid-19 cases rise to 44

Two more people who returned from the United Kingdom recently have tested positive for Covid-19 bringing the total of confirmed cases in Zimbabwe to 44.

Both of the new cases are females from Harare.

To date, Zimbabwe has recorded 44 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 4 deaths.

Of the 44 Covid-19 patients, 23 are active cases while 17 have recovered.

In the Covid-19 daily update, Health ministry said the two new cases arrived from UK on the 4th of May.

“Two cases tested for Covid-19 today. The two cases are both female returning citizens from the United Kingdom who arrived on the 4th of May 2020 and are residents of Harare.

“Two positive cases reported in yesterday’s update under Mashonaland West Province are actually residents of Harare and have been reported in today’s update as such.

“To date the total number of confirmed cases is 44; recovered cases 17, active cases 23 and 4 deaths since the onset of the outbreak on 20 March 2020,” reads part of the update.
