MDC-Alliance president Nelson Chamisa who in the past few days faced several ‘assasination attempts’ has accused Zanu PF of plotting to kill him.
Writing on his Twitter page, Chamisa said: “THEY NEARLY TOOK ME OUT..He wants me killed and dead. They want blood and more blood. They missed by seconds because Our #Godisinit.
“Violence & assassinations won’t solve complex national challenges.I’m in Nyanga today (Wednesday) meeting the community. Change must happen. The citizens are clear.”
Since last week the youthful leader has been under attack from alleged Zanu PF youths and supporters.
The MDC Alliance claimed these are attempts by the ruling party to disturb Chamisa’s tour to different provinces, which is aimed at bolstering support ahead of the 2023 presidential elections.
Chamisa was attacked last week in Masvingo by a alleged Zanu PF members waving placards that accused him of inviting sanctions into the country.
He again faced ‘assasination attempts’ from ZANU PF party’s youth who blocked his convoy just outside Mutare, before they fired gunshots at one of his vehicles, damaging the rear window mirror.
Moreover, Chamisa who is running under the chant Ngapinde Hake Mukomana (#NHM) leaving his Chamisa Chete Chete (CCC) slogan, was also attacked on his way to Nyanga.
The incident occured at Troutbeck turn-off in Nyanga, when the MDC-A leader was en-route to Ruwangwe village.
