Zanu-PF youth deputy secretary, Lewis Matutu and Youth wing’s political commissar, Godfrey Tsenengamu have been suspended from the ruling party.

This comes after the duo held a press conference, Monday accusing Mnangagwa’s advisor and Sakunda Holdings owner, Kudakwashe Tagwireyi of winning business tenders through corruption.

According to reports, Matutu stormed out of today’s ZANU PF politburo meeting after he was suspended .

“@LewisMatutu walks out of Politiburo meeting and leaves, it’s not yet clear why he has left. This is after @edmnangagwa said he won’t tolerate activism that threatens party unity,” reads a message circulating on social media platforms.

Sources within the party who spoke to this publication also confirmed the development.

In a story published earlier this week, Matutu and Tsenengamu accused Tagwireyi of having a hand in the country’s dire economic state.

“We have cartels in gold sector, cartels in diamond mining, cartels in fuel and some in pharmaceutical industry who are holding the country at ransom as they are enriching themselves whilst the majority are suffering,” said Tsenengamu.

The pair added that they were not accusing Tagwireyi so they would gain political mileage but were fighting for what they termed the “generational cause” against corruption.

“These people are stealing and they try to cover up themselves using the president’s name, though not sure if there are saying he is in the middle of that scandelous behavior.”

It is said Mnangagwa was not happy with the “name & shame” and this could have prompted their suspension.
