A clique led by Buhera Central Constituency legislator Matthew Gijima Nyashanu has reportedly emblazoned a private motor vehicle with the ruling Zanu PF party livery.

Information gathered by the Bustop TV indicates that the legislator acquired a Navara Outlaw truck registration number ADY 7888 from one Tafadzwa Martin Nyamakura of Highfields in Harare. The vehicle this publication is reliably informed, was driven to Buhera Central  Constituency on the 7th of August 2021 where it is being used by the legislators’ blue-eyed boys as a “utility vehicle”, doing the bidding for members loyal to him  ahead of the impending District and Provincial restructuring exercises.

The team which is allegedly using the “ghost” party vehicle are District Co-ordinating Committes (DCCs) members, Douglas Musakaruka a serving member in the civil services as a teacher and doubles as a personal secretary to the legislator; Norman Mukaro and a Provincial Youth League Member Taurai Muzondori.

After checking with the Zanu PF Transport Department, this publication established that the said vehicle is not in the inventory of party vehicles.

A step further in trying to ascertain the true story from the “owner” of the vehicle Tafadzwa Martin Nyamakura drew blanks as his mobile phone initially rang without being answered until it was unreachable several times up to the time of going to print.

Contacted for comment, Douglas Musakaruka the secretary to the legislator picked the call but could not be drawn into revealing more as he referred all the questions pertaining the vehicle to “Honourable Gijima” whose mobile phone upon reaching out to him was blocked to incoming calls and text messages.

Matthew Gijima Nyashanu is not new to controversy as recently he hogged the limelight albeit for the wrongs reasons as he was accused by the villagers of convening political meetings meant to drum up support for party members aligned to him ahead of the imminent District and Provincial restructuring exercise in flagrant disregard of the national lockdown Level 4 announced by President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa.
