Former Warriors and Caps United striker (Gaza) Bunjira has defined the current national team players as a “Golden Generation” made-up of talented players considering that most of them are plying their trade abroad.Bunjira, who was [art of the History-making Warriors team that made their maiden qualification for Africa’ s biannual tournament, the Africa Cup of Nation (Afcon) in Tunisia 2004, elaborated how precious is the current crop of players that make up the Warriors team at the moment.

Gaza told the Bustop TV news that when he looks at the Joe Antipas’ troops, he sees a team that can challenge for anything on the continental front and even at the world stage.

“When I look at our team I see a golden generation of players that can actually take us far, this team can actually qualify for World Cup”.

“With this golden generation I have no doubt that we can make it”, said Bunjira.

The former Makepekepe star added that only proper preparation can yield good results for the national team.

Bunjira said, “But the only thing that really needs to be done is proper preparations as long as we prepare well, as long as we look after these boys well and keep them happy in the camp I am sure we can do well”.

The Zimbabwe senior national team will kick start their campaign for the Afcon 2021 qualifier against Botswana on Friday evening at National Sports Stadium.

Bunjira also indicated how crucial the match versus the Zebras of Botswana is, as the first steps towards Afcon 2012 begin.

“I think as the first game of the campaign it is very important so that we can actually kick start the campaign very well. I think that we have a team that is good enough to qualify for Afcon 2021 and it starts with the game against Botswana a very important game”.

Zimbabwe will travel to Lusaka next Tuesday to play against the Chipolopolo of Zambia in another Afcon 2021 qualifier match four days after they have played Botswana.
