Outspoken Norton legislator, Temba Mliswa, has endorsed the July 31 proposed mass march against corruption and misgovernment.

Mliswa took to the microblogging site, Twitter to share his opinion on the intended action.

He said, “I’m also in support &endorse the anti-corruption March slated for #31stJuly. I have been pushing the same issues as a legislator in Parliament. Much of what I have done in Parliament is to represent people but they have largely remained passive, scared& reluctant to stand up.”

Mliswa joined the expelled Zanu PF youth commissar Godfrey Tsenengamu, MDC Alliance Chairperson Job Sikhala and hordes of other political and civil rights leaders who are calling for mass protests against the misgovernmence and massive corruption by the Mnangagwa led administration.

Mliswa also challenged people to take charge and stand for themselves rather than waiting in the sidelines.

“I have been victimised and fought over issues that have nothing to do with me personally but the people I represent against the hazardous Chinese factory, Galloway stands saga etc, the victims themselves, largely remain on the fringes reluctant to stand up for themselves.” Mliswa said.

He expressed that he feared that people might not appear in considerable numbers for the demonstration because of the fear of being victimised.

Mliswa said, “I fear the same deficit in character will affect this anti-corruption march as people will not come out. The reasons are that their welfare is poor, they are hungry and busy with eking a living. You end up working alone as has been happening with me when I fight for the people.”

July 31 has been set aside as a day to march against misrule in the country and it will be on the eve of the August 1 shootings commemorations.
