Movement For Democratic Change (MDC) president, Nelson Chamisa today (Wednesday) described local business mogul Kudakwashe Tagwirei as a ‘dirty’ individual who thrives on corruption.
The Sakunda Holdings owner was recently singled out as the corruption godfather by former ZANU PF youth league deputy secretary, Lewis Matutu and Godfrey Tsenengamu.
Tagwirei was again in the middle of the graft scandal which saw over US$3 billion disappearing under the Command Agriculture scheme.
During a press conference held at Harvest House today, Chamisa expressed his disgust over the way Tagwirei carries out his business.
“Tagwirei is a “dirty man”, I have no contacts with Tagwirei and I have a problem with the way he conducts his politics,” he said.
This statement also follows allegations by MDC-T spokesperson Khaliphani Phugeni that he had evidence to prove that Chamisa was bought a Land Cruiser car by the controversial businessman.
“Some of us can only be bought by aspiration not goods and material things.
“Politics is not all about material things that when you get a car or a house stand you have achieved,” Chamisa added.
He went onto dismiss the allegations and stated that the vehicle was bought by his party.
“Yes! I drive a Land Cruiser which was bought by the party from a car sale.
“Those who make allegations that it was bought by Tagwirei are the same people that believe politics is all about material.”
He went on to add that as an advocate he did not accept bribes as he had a salary.
“I am an advocate, not a mickymouse advocate but a real advocate, I earn a salary and I work for the people so I would not want to be bribed by a dirty man, Tagwirei is a dirty man.”
