Zimbabwean songtress ShaSha born Charmaine Mupimbiro 26 years made history after she won the 2020 BET Viewers’ Choice: Best New International Act Award #BETAwards2020.
The Amapiano star won the prestigious international best award under the category of viewers best choice courtesy of the Black Entertainment Television, the most prominent television network targeting African American audiences in the United States.
The awards which were done virtually due to COVID-19 saw the “tender Love” hitmaker unveiled as a winner trouncing Rema from Nigeria, Celeste from the United Kingdom, Young T and Bugsey from the United Kingdom, Hatik from France and Stacy from France.
The ecstatic Sha Sha couldn’t hide her joy as she posted on her tweeter “What just happened!!! A BET THANK YOU! MY PEOPLE BACK AT HOME ALL ALL OVER THE WORLD MAN ” The singer celebrated on her Twitter handle.
Sharmaine who hails from the eastern Highlands of Mutare and now based in South Africa has built an international household name with her Amapiano hit songs, specifically Tender Love ft. DJ Maphorisa which has over three million views on video-sharing network Youtube. She also has featured on smash hits such as We’Mama, Love You Tonight, and Akulaleki.
This years , 2020 BET awards marked the 20th anniversary of the event.
