Zimbabwe’s neighbouring country South Africa has extended the validity of all visas that expired in the Covid-19 pandemic.

This was confirmed by South Africa’s Home Affairs Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi.

In a statement Motsoaledi said the validity days for short term visas particularly those issued for not more than three months have been increased to 30 June.

While long term visas issued for a period of three months to three years have been extended till July 31.

In a statement the SA Home Affairs said:

“Visas that were lawfully issued and expired during the period of the lockdown are deemed to be valid until the end of June 2021 and 31 July 2021.03.30.

“Holders of such visas are permitted to remain in the country under the conditions of their visas until the expiry of their applicable extension,” he said.
