Rugby Union names Sables training squad

The Zimbabwe Rugby Union (ZRU) has announced the national rugby team (Sables) with a mix of seasoned campainers and youthful players.

The training squad includes interesting prospects like Mungo Mason, Blithe Mabesere and Tinashe Hombiro among others together with the experienced lads like Hilton Mudariki, Shingi Katsvere, Biselele Tshamala and Takudzwa Kumadiro among others.

In a statement, ZRU said, “Sables Management would like to take this opportunity to announce the official training Sables Squad that will be used for the upcoming camp and season fixtures.”

The squad assembling in Harare on the 16th of May and are immediately thrust with the responsibility of bagging the 2023 World Cup qualification.

Before the World Cup qualification comes to play, the team will be involved in friendlies against Zambia and Namibia.

On 2 June and June 5, Zimbabwe will play Zambia at home.

The team will play against Namibia Welwitschia on June 12 and 19 home and away respectively.

The Sables will the play the Blue Bulls select team in July and fly to Tunisia mid July.
