Residents lobby group, Combined Harare Residents Association (CHRA) has urged Harare City Council to prioritize citizens’ input in its budget consultations.

According to CHRA, consultations on budgetary issues buttresses relationships between citizens and the local authority.

“CHRA calls for inclusive budget consultation processes and the city to consider citizen input seriously during the budget consultations. The budget consultations are a critical process of priority and tariff setting, an issue the local authority has been wrestling with citizens for many years”.

According to the City of Harare, budget consultations are set to begin this August and end in September.
