MDC Alliance legislators who were axed from parliament by MDC-T leader, Thokozani Khupehave said they are unmoved by the recalls and will remain loyal to the people.

MDC Alliance co-vice president Lynette Karenyi Kore, said she and others remain resolute following their recall from the National Assembly describing it as ‘an attempt to eradicate them (MDC Alliance)’.

“Despite hostility all around us. Despite attempts to eradicate us. Despite blatant attempts to silence us, we remain focused. We remain steady. We remain committed, consistent, unshaken, and true to our members and the people of our country.
We are patriotic. We are loyal. We are persevering,” she said.

Kore also said the recalled MPs not deterred because they represent people’s interests.

“We are not deterred because we represent the interests of our constituencies and we will continue to use their given mandate in other platforms and spaces even outside Parliament.”

Binga North legislator, Prince Dubeko Sibanda who also met the same fate said the recalls are illegal.

“Im not deterred that some criminals have just decided to recall me from parliament. l remain loyal to the people. l mentain my stance. l was illegally recalled by some criminals. Douglas Mwonzora, Morgan Komichi and Thokozani Khupe are all criminals who are trying to steal what doesn’t belong to them.”

Marondera central legislator, Caston Matewu said he is grateful to the people of Marondera for the hope and trust they bestowed in him to represent them.

“Cdes and Friends, the crisis in Zimbabwe is not about person political or personal benefit; it is about the economic emancipation of the people of our great country and Marondera Central is no exception. In Parliament I have debated and taught on many issues that concern us as a town and indeed the Country. I will continue to fight for these issues as long as ZANU Pf continues to drive this country into the doldrums of extreme poverty.”

He also said he remains loyal to MDC A president, Nelson Chamisa despite attempts to be whipped into supporting the supreme court resurrected MDC T leadership.

“I was elected under the able leadership of President Nelson Chamisa who I wholeheartedly believe will deliver this country to the land of milk and honey that we beseech. I remain and stand by President Nelson Chamisa.”

The latest recalls brings the number of axed MPs and senators to over thirty leaving the ruling Zanu PF party with total control of both lower and upper house. [email protected]
