Goodness and Mercy Ministries founder and leader, Prophet T Freddy has been released on free bail.
Freddy was arrested Wednesday facing rape charges and appeared in court Thursday afternoon.
He is expected back in court on the 6th of December.
T Freddy is facing charges of raping ZBC Radio Zimbabwe presenter Rutendo Makuti who had sought spiritual services from him in 2019.
A police memo reads: “The accused person (Freddy) invited the complainant to his workplace and gave her US$2 500 to ferry her husband to Karanda Hospital for medical attention. However, barely a week later, complainant’s husband died in hospital and the accused person offered assistance towards the burial.”
The complainant told the police that Freddy in 2020 visited her at her Mt Pleasant Heights home and requested to spend the night as it was late.
He later forcefully lifted the complainant who was sitting on a chair,placed her on the bed and raped her without protection.
After the incident he kept visiting her home and raping her.
T Freddy recently made headlines after his sex scandal was exposed.
He is however denying the charges, claiming the woman is trying to extort him.
