In what could signal continued selective application and preferential treatment, the MDC Alliance through its General Secretary Mr Chalton Hwende , posted a letter from the police informing them that they could not hold a demo as the police are currently seized with the anti-sanction demonstration on the 25th of October .
The opposition argued that this is a selective and deliberate ploy by the state through the police to completely ban the movement.
However some analysts condemned the MDC for grandstanding and seeking relevance by applying for a demo request knowingly that ZANU PF had announced its intention to stage the anti-sanction demo months back.
Through its General Secretary argues that ZANU PF never applied to hold their anti-sanction demonstration slated on the 25th.
