The Zimbawe Anti Corruption Commission (ZACC) has arrested National Social Security Authority (NSSA) board acting CEO Charles Shava for fraud.

The arrested is facing accusations of altering a Board resolution, which had rejected the proposed allowances for the four NSSA Doctors and caused the HR Manager to pay the allowances without approval, claiming the board had since approved the allowances.
A circular seen by BustopTV reads: “The Accused is detained at Avondale Police station and will appear in court tomorrow”.
This follows after the authority reviewed upwards, last week, allowances for its doctors.
In a statement, pertaining to the authority doctors’ salary increment, Shava said it has been difficult to keep medical staff due to uncompetitive remuneration.
“The increases will help curb the perennial loss of medical staff to other local employers who pay occupational health doctors more money.
Shava was appointed in July 2022 as acting general manager after suspending Arthur Manase was sent on leave pending corruption investigations at the institution.
Shava was NSSA’S director for occupational safety and health.
