A doctor’s residence flat at Bulawayo’s Mpilo Hospital was gutted by an inferno, Wednesday midnight.
Causes of the inferno have not been established yet but images going viral on social media indicate that a lot of property has been destroyed.
Mpilo Hospital CEO Professor Solwayo Ngwenya confirmed the tragic incident on his twitter account.
A female junior doctor who works at the health institution gave Bustop TV a brief account of the unfortunate incident.
“It was just after 12 midnight when l woke up to some noise and my house was full of smoke. I was only in my night dress without even shoes or anything else. l only managed to grab my phone and dashed down stairs only to helplessly watch all of my belongings being gutted by fire,” she said.
No casualties have been reported as yet.
