FORMER Vice President, Kembo Mohadi will keep his ZANU PF VP and second secretary posts despite stepping down as the nation’s VP.

This was revealed by ZANU PF spokesperson, Simon Khaya Moyo following a politburo meeting.

Addressing the media at the ZANU PF headquarters, Wednesday, SK Moyo said Mohadi’s ‘unexpected’resignation did not affect his position in the party.

“The politburo has accepted the resignation from government by the former Vice President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Kembo Mohadi.

“It was however noted that the resignation of Mohadi was unexpected and accepted by President Mnangagwa who is the appointing authority.

“His position in the party is not affected by his resignation from government,” he said.

Mohadi tendered his resignation with immediate effect on Monday following a sex scandal exposè.

Phone call recordings of him luring married women to his office and hotel for sex rocked social media platforms.

He vehemently denied all the allegations claiming he was a victim of ‘informational distortion, voice cloning and sponsored spooking and political sabotage. ‘

In stepping down, Mohadi said he needed space to deal with his problems outside the governance chair.
